General Hospital fans often talk about their favorite characters possibly making a comeback from the dead. There have been many who turned out to be alive recently, including Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Others have done it in the past as well, including Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). So, if all of these fan favorites can return, can Sam McCall make a comeback as well? Most fans were devastated when she died, and there was no JaSam reunion. Many believe Jason and Sam were endgame. It’s possible for JaSam to be an item, but without Kelly Monaco. Here is how it could happen and why Kelly could never come back to the role.
General Hospital Bringing Sam McCall Back With New Actress?
General Hospital fans keep wondering if Sam McCall could be the next one resurrected from the dead. Currently, Jason is locked away in a WSB prison, but everyone knows he will return soon. Britt is in love with Jason, but what happens if Sam returns from the grave? This could give fans the love story ending they always wanted for JaSam. However, there’s a catch.
The only way this could happen is if writers bring a new actress in to play Sam. There’s too much history with Kelly Monaco, and her return to the set would make things awkward for all the actors involved. Why? The soap and Monaco did not end their relationship on good terms. The tensions between them got even worse when Billy Miller left the show completely.
The Disrespect Everyone Denied
Everyone knows that fans loved seeing Billy Miller and Kelly Monaco together. In fact, they were a real-life couple at one point in time. Their chemistry on set was incredible, and “Killy” fans were devastated when Miller was seemingly demoted, and Steve Burton returned to take over the role of Jason Morgan once again.
Miller was forced to give up the role of Jason for Burton’s return and was switched over to play Drew Cain, Jason Morgan’s twin brother. He played the part well, but the switch-up was a slap in the face to the Emmy Award-winning actor. There were tons of hate being spewed by devoted Killy fans, and the actors all pleaded with them to be kind. They said the words publicly, but everyone knew the tension among the cast members was still there in full force.
Kelly Monaco reportedly did not get along with Burton on his last return, and it was also rumored that his ex-wife didn’t like them working together as well. Fans could see the tension between JaSam during scenes, and it made things more awkward for everyone. It all seemed to ruin the chances of JaSam being endgame once Billy was no longer Jason.
Can a New Actress Save JaSam?
It’s possible that bringing in a new actress to portray Sam McCall could potentially reunite JaSam. It would never happen if Monaco returned to play the character. The new actress would have to be someone Burton and his new bride were comfortable with him working with. Perhaps they could bring back Lindsay Hartley for the role. Most fans loved her in the role, and a comeback would be great.
If they choose to bring Sam back, this could create the next big love triangle between Britt, Sam, and Jason. Britt always seems to come in second place, so JaSam would ultimately win. Right now, it’s all speculation, but anything is possible and would definitely bring more drama to Port Charles.
