She previously disclosed that she no longer had contact with “90%” of her family. Katie clarified that she made the decision to deal with her difficult upbringing. However, a large number of her relatives did not end up helping her. Katie was devastated when some of them chose to remove themselves. Katie eventually spoke up as a result, stating that she no longer wanted to keep quiet about it. Katie has not yet disclosed which members of her family have severed their relationship with her. However, she has been removing family images from the internet, suggesting that there is a significant split.

Recently, Katie posted a new video to Instagram that shows her relaxing on a cruise. The video conveys a number of inspirational lessons on maintaining optimism despite life’s challenges. However, the family members who left comments on Katie’s article attracted a lot of attention. Josie commented, “Love you and praying for you through this difficult time ❤️.” Michaela also left a positive message for Katie, saying, “Love you and praying for you every day!” Carlin has also said how much she will miss Katie when she moves away. Bringing Up Bates fans believe Carlin is among the 10% of family members who remain in contact with Katie. This news comes after Katie expressed her enthusiasm for Carlin and Evan with a comment on the ” Carlin’s moving to the big house” video.
Heart emojis were also left by Zach and Kelly Jo. However, a lot of fans think that Katie’s distancing was largely due to Gil and Kelly Jo. On her Instagram feed, she even removed a few pictures and videos of them together. One of them was a picture from 2021 showing her announcing that she and Travis were moving to New Jersey.

Erin Bates did a Q&A on her Instagram stories. The fans asked her, “Are you on speaking terms with all your sisters?” Erin replied, “Yes, Of Course!! with two big red hearts. Fans had a lot to say about that very short answer from Erin.

- I’m sure “speaking terms” to her just means being cordial with them at family events
- It’s giving me vibes of Bill Clinton’s “I did not have sexual relations with that woman!.” It’s all about the semantics. How does Erin define speaking terms?
- She has 18 siblings. I come from a family of eight kids, and we’re not all close. I’m a lot closer to some of them, best friends even, while with the others I’m not as close and it has changed over the years as I’ve grown because of the age gap as well, with one sibling, it’s a whole other situation, things happened between us, but I still talk to her. There were times where we would be beefing and then the other day we’d be laughing together, but it’s not like we cut each other off. Sometimes it’s just different personalities.
