We’ve seen enough General Hospital (GH) over the years to realize right away that Cassius’ secret would never be kept a secret. But we didn’t anticipate that the character would be revealed along with the truth.
When Ryan Paevey made his return to General Hospital in September 2025 after his character, Nathan West, had been killed off back in 2018, both the characters on the show and the fans were left questioning how Nathan could be alive after so many years. Later on, it was revealed that Paevey was actually portraying Nathan’s twin brother, Cassius Faison, who had taken on his brother’s identity. This twist, however, only led to even more questions.
In the June 9 episode, while locked in the holding cell beneath Wyndemere with Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was overjoyed when “Nathan” appeared to open the door, thinking he had come to save them. Liesl was shocked to discover that, although he was her son, he wasn’t actually Nathan but his twin brother—someone she had long believed had died at birth.

General Hospital Writers Say Cassius’ World Crashes
Both Cassius and we have sensed for weeks that his time pretending to be his deceased brother Nathan would soon come to an end. We had hoped and assumed that after he was exposed, his transgressions would be pardoned, and it would become clear that he shared more characteristics with James’ father than with his half-brother Peter. However, this summer, “Cassius risks a clean getaway to say goodbye,” as headwriters Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte tell Soap Opera Digest. His “life as Nathan comes crashing down, and we’ll learn whether his masquerade has changed him for the better.”
We suspect that learning about Nathan’s family has, in fact, made Cassius more like his reformed mother, Liesl, than his evil father, Faison. In fact, we all think that Cassius had genuine feelings for Lulu despite the numerous lies he told. It’s possible that she will be the one to offer viewers a forgiving perspective on her ex-lover. The scribes state that “his legacy will not be determined so much by his own decisions but by the choice of someone he leaves behind.”

Will Cassius Faison be back in the future? But of course, like father, like son, right? When Cassius returns one day, maybe he will reconnect with a more mature Josslyn Jacks. They seem to have a love-hate relationship/friendship. What do you think about Cassius leaving Port Charles? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I hate that he is leaving. Wish he would stay and become the man he wants to be. I’m going to be sad to see him leave.
