General Hospital fans were shocked when Steve Burton announced he’s taking a break from his role as Jason Morgan. Since his announcement, fans are wondering what could be in store for Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) sidekick. Everyone has seen the presumed dead storyline play out multiple times. They expressed their hope that it is not the route writers choose this time. Thankfully, since we know Jason’s hiatus is only temporary, it most likely isn’t anything like that. So, what is it that will take Jason away from Port Charles? The answer might blow your mind.
General Hospital Says See You Later To Jason Morgan
Steve Burton has already filmed his final scenes for General Hospital. He filmed it on February 6 and will be gone for several months. His plan is to return sometime this summer. The big question now is, how do they write him off for that long?
Right now, things are going well for Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Jason. But in true Britt/Jason style, there’s bound to be something that tears them apart again. He’s focused on helping Britt escape Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). Britt is in danger, but there’s someone else who needs help, too.
In a recent scene with Sonny, Jason expresses that he feels like he should have done for Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). She’s insisting that Cesar Faison is alive and only Jason can stop him. He’s struggling to think Anna could have been on the edge with mental illness, and he missed it.
So, Jason’s guilt is going to take hold, and he’s going to beat himself up about it so much that he decides to go to France to see Anna at the facility she’s being held at. What happens next?
Jason’s Plan To Help Anna Devane
Once Jason Morgan makes his way to France to see Anna Devane, there are a few scenarios that could play out. After speaking with Anna himself, he might realize that she’s not suffering from PTSD but rather that someone really had her held captive, claiming to be Faison.
He will help Anna escape the facility and possibly send her back to Port Charles, since rumor has it Finola Hughes will be back filming again in the spring. Then, Jason will set out to find the place where Anna was being held captive and try to uncover the dark secrets that lie there.
There’s a strong possibility he will be caught and held there against his will by Sidwell and Cullum’s employees. Will they drug him and play the same sick and twisted games they played with Anna?
This is all speculation for now, but seems likely that Jason’s departure will involve rescuing Anna and figuring out what really happened to her and why. This summer, he will be rescued or escape and somehow put an end to the nightmare Sidwell and Cullum have caused with Faison’s final project. There’s sure to be more drama ahead as all the puzzle pieces come together.
