OutDaughtered Parents Reveal Why They Pulled Kids Out Of School
OutDaughtered parents Adam and Danielle Busby have six children. They are Blayke, 14, and 10-year-old quints, Hazel, Riley, Parker, Ava, and Olivia. The couple released a new episode of their podcast, MoreThanRealityPodcast, in which they discussed their tough decision to pull their quints out of public school.
Their five daughters will start their sixth-grade year as part of a co-op homeschool. For those who do not know what that is, it is when part of their learning is done at home at their own pace. The other part is done with a teacher in a classroom setting for certain subjects of the family’s choosing. This gives them the best of both worlds. They will still have interactions with other children while in the classroom setting.
They talked to the quints about their preferences. The girls all said they wanted to stay together and do the co-op. This decision was not reached lightly. In their podcast, Adam and Danielle discuss how they hope that by making this change, they can protect their daughter’s innocence a little more. Plus, other factors went into their decision as well, such as dyslexia issues and academic struggles.
Fans Are Divided On Their Decision
OutDaughtered fans have mixed feelings on Adam and Danielle Busby’s decision to pull the quints out of school and homeschool them. Some fans disagreed with it. One fan said, “Kids need to learn to be around other adults and kids, you won’t be able to get them a job from home… they need to adjust to being in the public without parents watching over them…”
Adam Busby fired back at the critics. He replied, “And that’s why we are doing a co-op. Kids are also very involved with other sports and activities in public. Homeschool isn’t locking your kids in a basement, to never go outside.”
Others chimed in as well and even trashed their political beliefs as part of the reason for their decision. Adam fired back at them as well.
Danielle also shared her thoughts and responded to critics. She said, “Let me just tell you something. One, you sound like the doctors that told me I wasn’t going to survive having quintuplets and they weren’t gonna survive. Two, if you think I can’t, you’re wrong because, three, God provides me strength, energy, courage, wisdom, all the things I need.”
