The View will be welcoming back a familiar face very soon. It’s been confirmed that former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is returning to the show. Prior to this, Hasselbeck was a part of the show for ten seasons from 2003 to 2013. She butted heads with current and past panelists because of her conservative views. Now, she’s back. The View Welcoming Elisabeth Hasselbeck Back
The View will be welcoming back former host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Deadline revealed that Hasselbeck, along with many others, will be making guest appearances on the talk show. These celebrities will be stepping in as co-hosts while the current host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, goes on maternity leave.
Hasselbeck will not be filling in the entire time Griffin is gone, and it’s unclear how many episodes she will appear on. It’s also currently unknown what specific date she will be making her comeback.
The first guest host to fill in for Griffin will be Savannah Chrisley on February 17. Other celebrities who will be taking a turn at guest hosting are Abby Huntsman, Amanda Carpenter, Sheryl Underwood, and Whitney Cummings.
The View executive producer Brian Teta revealed the guest co-host list and also said their selections were about having “a different point of view at the table.” He also noted that it was about who is good at the job or who has the potential to be good at the job.
Hasselbeck’s Time On The Talk Show
The View’s former host Elisabeth Hasselbeck had many controversial moments during her ten-year run on the show. One of the notable confrontations she had was with Rosie O’Donnell. Their argument got so intense that producers used a split screen to show both O’Donnell and Hasselbeck.
The disagreement was so bad that O’Donnell left the show three days later instead of her planned departure for three weeks further down the road.
The current panelists on the show, especially Whoopi Goldberg is known to voice opinions against the Trump administration. Goldberg expressed concern this week that the show could be in jeopardy after former CNN journalist Don Lemon’s arrest. Lemon was arrested following his involvement in an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis on January 18.
He and others are charged with conspiracy against the rights of religious freedom at a place of worship and injuring, intimidating and interfering with the exercise of the right of religious freedom at a place of worship.
