The View host, Whoopi Goldberg, along with her co-hosts, is asking for viewers’ opinions regarding the future of their show. Their concerns continue to rise after the arrest of former CNN journalist Don Lemon. On Monday, February 2, Goldberg brought up the arrest and what it could mean for their show’s future. The View Host Whoopi Goldberg Addresses Don Lemon’s Arrest
The View host Whoopi Goldberg addressed the recent arrest of journalist Don Lemon on a recent episode of the show. She continues to express concern over the future of their show after Lemon’s arrest for what she says was just doing his job. Lemon’s arrest occurred on January 29 in Los Angeles following his involvement in reporting on an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis on January 18.
Lemon, along with other protestors, marched to a church and proceeded to enter the building and confront the pastor, who is said to be an ICE agent. He was livestreaming the protest, but refused to disclose the exact location they were at. At one point, the accusations against Lemon say he was blocking congregation members from leaving the church.

He and others are charged with conspiracy against religious freedom at a place of worship and injuring, intimidating, and interfering with the exercise of the right of religious freedom at a place of worship. So far, Lemon has not entered a plea in the case, although it’s believed he will enter a not guilty plea at his next court appearance early next week in Minnesota.
Goldberg voiced her concerns about the arrest and said, “What I said to you before, you see what’s happening. You know what’s happening. If it’s happening like this for someone who is out and clearly doing his job, what do you think will happen to us? So it’s important to recognize what we are voting for now. It’s not a conversation, it’s not a thing. Now it’s like, ‘OK.’ We all gotta stick together with all of this because it’s affecting all of us from A to Z.”
Other Panelists Joined In
The View co-host Ana Navarro also chimed in and agreed with Whoopi Goldberg’s concerns. She said black journalists seem to be taken into custody more than anyone else. She points out that Georgia Fort was also taken into custody after live-streaming at another anti-ICE protest. Navarro said, “I think it’s to send a chilling message to anybody who is covering facts. This administration is afraid of people seeing the truth and being informed, and I think they picked on the wrong guy.”
The View continues to be anti-President Trump and refuses to stop being vocal about it.
