Former First Lady Jill Biden is in the spotlight once again. This time, it is due to her ex-husband being charged with murdering his wife. William Stevenson, 77, was indicted Monday by a grand jury in Wilmington, Delaware. Jill Biden’s Ex Facing Murder Charges In Delaware
News broke Tuesday morning that Jill Biden’s first husband, William Stevenson, is being held and charged with murdering his current wife. Linda Stevenson, 64, was pronounced dead after first responders failed to revive her after being called to the couple’s home in Delaware. TMZ was first to share the shocking news.
The call came in for police to respond to a domestic disturbance on the night of December 28. First responders with the New Castle County Police found Linda on the living room floor, unresponsive at approximately 11:15 PM. Life-saving efforts were not successful. After being pronounced deceased, Stevenson’s body was transported to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy.
At the time of her death, Stevenson cooperated fully with the police. He was the one who called 911. No cause of death has been revealed so far. However, during the call to the police on the night of her death, cardiac arrest was mentioned in the dispatch call.
Now, more than a month later, her husband, William, is being charged with killing her. He was unable to post bail and, therefore, was transferred to Howard Young Correctional Institution after being unable to post $500,000 bail.
The investigation is still ongoing, and hopefully, more details about Linda’s death will be disclosed soon.
Jill’s Marriage To Stevenson
Jill Biden married William Stevenson in 1970 when she was only 18 years old. At the time, Stevenson was 23. Jill was attending the University of Delaware at the time. She and William separated in 1974. She went on to marry former President Joe Biden in 1977. He was a young senator at the time.
Since then, Stevenson has accused Jill and Joe of having an affair while he was still with her. The Biden family has not spoken out in regard to the arrest of Jill’s first husband.
