1000-lb Sisters Star Tammy Slaton Talks Anxiety And Depression
1000-lb Sisters fans already know that Tammy Slaton has said she is suffering from depression and anxiety. Her ongoing feud with her sister Amy is not helping her condition at all. She’s discussed how she’s feeling with her fiancé, Andrea, since she expressed concern that Tammy is not herself.
Last week, Tammy said, “I have been noticing more and more lately that I’ve had hella mood swings. Like really bad, trying to keep anger down, and it’s just getting worse and worse.”
Tammy’s siblings planned a trip to New Orleans. In previous years, this was something Tammy really wanted to do. However, this time, she refused to go. In the upcoming episode, her brother Chris Combs will try to share their adventures from the trip. Tammy does not want to hear about it at all.
Chris can tell that something is definitely not right with his sister. He said, “Tammy’s acting like she don’t want to hear nothing about the vacation. At any other time, she’d have been the first one in the car ready to go. So for her not wanting to take off and go on a trip, that right there tells you something ain’t right.”
Instead of discussing the trip, Chris and Misty decide to ask Tammy what she did while they were in New Orleans. Slaton had plenty to share with her siblings.

Tammy’s Mental Breakdown
1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton shared that while they were gone, she went to therapy. Andrea threatened to end their romance if Tammy didn’t seek help. She was growing tired of Tammy’s frequent outbursts and mood swings.
Tammy also went to see her doctor. She said, “Also, I went to the doctors. They did a bunch of blood work and my medication, it was such a high dose for my bigger body and now that I’m not so big, it was too high for my body size.”
She continued explaining that the dose was making her manic depressive. It caused her to have a mental breakdown. So, doctors took her off five meds and lowered the doses on all the others. Time will tell if the changes help her.
