General Hospital spoilers say a winter storm forced the studio to change its plans, so we have some news about cast comings and goings. Because of bad weather and the problems with getting around that came after, a GH actor had to be replaced for some important scenes.
General Hospital fans are used to seeing new actors take on familiar roles for a short time. Guy Wilson took over as Lucky Spencer from Jonathan Jackson last year, and Nicole Paggi briefly took over as Maxie Jones from Kirsten Storms. Next week, a pinch-hitter will play a different character for a short time.
General Hospital Actor Stuck In New York
A strong winter storm hit many parts of the country in January, leaving ice, sleet, and record-breaking amounts of snow in major travel hubs like New York City. Because of this, airlines canceled more than 20,000 flights between January 23 and January 26, which caused a lot of problems for passengers.
Daniel Cosgrove, who plays Ezra Boyle, is from the East Coast and was one of those affected. He couldn’t fly to Los Angeles, where the soap is filmed. So, Patrick Scott Lewis was hired by the show to take his place.
New Ezra Boyle Actor Has Been On General Hospital Before
The first episode of Lewis as Ezra will air on Monday, March 2. The second episode will air a few weeks later, on Monday, March 16. This will not be the actor’s first time on General Hospital, though. In December 2024, he played Mr. Thomas in one episode, where he interrupted a conversation between Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina.

In the current story, Ezra is busy acting as the go-between for Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and her blackmailer, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
