Days of Our Lives fans were shocked when Carson Boatman (Johnny) was fired from the show early in the new year. But it looks like he has his eye on another soap on the ABC network. “I’m open to seeing what life is like in Port Charles.”
Fans of Days of Our Lives were shocked earlier this year when they heard that Carson Boatman would be leaving the long-running soap. Raven Bowens, Leo Howard, and Ashley Puzemis were also part of the shake-up. Boatman will continue to air until 2027, but he has officially finished filming. This marks the end of a big chapter for both the actor and fans of Johnny DiMera.
Boatman didn’t hide how much he enjoyed his time in Salem when he spoke at a Day Players tour stop in New Jersey. “I will forever be grateful for the time that I got to spend on Days of Our Lives. It truly is a special place,” he said the cast was like family to him. Boatman also made it clear that this could be a temporary goodbye.
Boatman Is Open To General Hospital
Fans are already wondering what’s next for Johnny, and Boatman isn’t ruling anything out. The actor said he would be interested in possibly joining General Hospital. He would be a fantastic replacement for Spencer Cassadine. “I would love a jump to that show,” SoapHub reported the actor as saying. “I’m absolutely open to seeing what life is like in Port Charles.” The actor is very witty, like Spencer, and has the same look and demeanor, making him a great addition to the General Hospital cast.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who played Spencer, was a fan favorite on the ABC soap. The character left in January 2024. But fans think it is time to bring Spencer back for the next generation of Cassadine storylines.
Boatman would also make a great Lucky Spencer; the baby-faced actor could also take over as a SORAS’d Cameron, continuing where William Lipton left off. Or he could be a brand-new character. General Hospital has been rumored to be hiring several new actors as Port Charles love interests.
Carson Boatman is already in with the General Hospital family
Boatman has been travelling with a few well-known General Hospital actors, with whom he worked at Days of our Lives: Brandon Barash, former Johnny Zacchara and also Scott Reeves, who played Dr. Steven Webber. They are currently on tour with The Day Players, who are bringing their fun show to fans all over the United States thanks to Coastal Entertainment.
Wally Kurth, who also plays Ned Quartermaine, is taking this year off, so Reeves is stepping in for him. The guys just said that they will be going on tour again later this year for a special holiday show.
