General Hospital fans do not believe that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is legit. Since the moment he crashed his truck back into Port Charles, there has been speculation that he is not the real deal. Nobody has been able to pinpoint exactly who he is. Some have speculated he’s Peter August, while others think Cesar Faison’s brain has been transplanted into Nathan’s body. Still others believe he’s someone else entirely. According to Nathan, he has no recollection of the past seven years. Is it all a cover to keep the world from finding out that Faison really does have a fourth child?
General Hospital Nathan Twist Nobody Saw Coming
General Hospital fans already know that Ryan Paevey said he would not return to the daytime drama for any old vanilla storyline. So, everyone knows whatever he’s up to must be pretty juicy. There are many things about Nathan that aren’t adding up. He didn’t do well playing baseball, and he seems to have no interest in being with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Plus, he’s pursuing Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening). It all doesn’t seem very Nathan-like.
His fingerprints and DNA matched, proving he’s Nathan, but fans still aren’t buying it. It wouldn’t be the first time test results have been switched. The big question is, if he’s not Nathan West, who is he? In a recent episode of the show, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) said that her father has four children. As far as the rest of the world knows, Faison only had three kids. So, who is this fourth child?
It wouldn’t be the first time a soap has gone the route of an evil twin. Could the real Nathan actually be dead or locked up somewhere in a prison? The man in Port Charles could be Nathan 2.0, but evil. There might be ulterior motives behind his strange return. It’s ironic that he just happened to show up almost immediately after his dead sister. He could have been sent to keep Britt in check and watch over the final project his father had worked on.
Would The Real Nathan Please Stand Up
If General Hospital fans are right and writers have set up another evil twin mystery, the real Nathan West could be locked up and tortured somewhere. Or, he could actually be dead. It makes sense they would still retrieve his body from his grave to ensure nobody thought this twin was the real deal.
At some point, “Nathan” has to slip up and reveal something that will trigger others to dig into his identity a little more. Lulu is good at digging things up. Will she decide she needs to know what happened to Nathan during those seven years he was gone? Will she uncover dark secrets Faison thought were hidden forever? Is the man she’s falling in love with a complete fraud?
There are still so many questions to be answered. Of course, this is all just speculation for now. Writers have not confirmed that Nathan is not really himself or that he has an evil twin.
