There is a crazy rumor going around on social media that says 90 Day Fiance‘s Tim Malcolm had kids before he became famous on reality TV.
If you’ve been looking through 90 Day Fiance fan groups lately, you’ve probably seen the headline: “Reality TV Shocker: Tim Malcolm Had Three Children Before Fame—And We’re Just Learning Now.” The one that made everyone stop, gasp, and then say, “Wait, what?”
Read on to learn more about the strange rumor that 90 Day Fiancé star Tim Malcolm has secret kids that no one knew about.
Let’s paint a picture. All of the Facebook posts led to the same sketchy-looking article on a site full of ads that crashes your phone if you sneeze while scrolling. According to that article, Tim had three kids before he became a TLC star. It does seem like a scandal at first, but when you read the fine print, it doesn’t.
The article said Tim from 90 Day Fiance had secret children.
An article said that Tim has three kids from previous relationships: Chloe (his ex Veronica’s daughter, who longtime fans already know about), a second child he adopted after a 10-year relationship, and a third child he apparently helped raise at some point. One of those kids, a boy, just finished basic training with the U.S. Navy. Tim proudly posted about it on Instagram, saying how special it was to see his last name on a uniform again.
Now, all of that? That’s really sweet of you. But the problem is how the article, and especially the headlines, showed the information. He said he “fathered” three kids? This means that the kids he fathered are with someone else, and Tim does not have any of those children.
Fans on Reddit were sickened by how the rumor was spreading.
Fans on Facebook were quick to say that the article was wrong. One person called it “fake news,” and others said that Tim has always been honest about not having biological children. The discussion about the rumor on Reddit escalated significantly.
Fans on the social network Reddit were upset with how the rumor was spreading
Fans didn’t hold back in one Reddit thread. One person said, “So he didn’t really have any kids if none of them are his biological children.” That title is very misleading; all of these kids are stepkids. Someone else said, “Tim Malcolm was a parent to three children,” which is the right way to say it.
Another person chimed in to say that Tim takes his job as a stepfather very seriously. Fans were very upset with the article because it made it sound like he was a deadbeat dad who left his secret kids behind when he became a reality TV star.

When things calmed down, most people seemed to agree: This whole thing doesn’t make Tim look bad. If anything, it just shows what a lot of fans already knew: he’s the kind of guy who doesn’t leave the kids he helped raise, even when the relationship ends. He doesn’t have any secret kids that he had and then left when he became famous on TLC, though.
