A woman had a horrifying choking experience. The Wilmington, Ohio, woman choked on a French fry while driving, which caused her to crash her car into a gas station and led to the collapse of the awning.
WLWT 5 reported, citing a crash report from the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), that the woman, whose name has not been made public, was driving in Wilmington, Ohio, on January 11 when she choked on the fast food item and passed out behind the wheel of her car.
According to WXIX, the driver told police that she hit and damaged a parked car and a Sunoco gas station pole with her 2016 Buick LeSabre just after noon local time.
An eyewitness watched the horrible accident
An eyewitness told the outlet that the woman’s car hit a pole that was attached to an awning, which caused the partial collapse.
The Wilmington News Journal says that no one was hurt.
The woman told the police that she doesn’t remember crashing. WXIX and WLWT 5 said that she also told them she has a dry spot in her throat that makes her choke.
Fire Department & Building Inspector called
The Daily Mail, which cited a police report, said that the driver was given a ticket for not being able to control the car. There have been no charges made public.

People who lived nearby were shocked when they saw the accident scene on social media. One TikTok user remarked, “I was wondering why I heard sirens.” Another added: ‘I saw this in person and it caught me so off guard.’
