Young & the Restless spoilers say that during the week of May 18-22, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will fire attorney Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). This might put her in need of another attorney pronto. It sets the stage for what could potentially be a big comeback. Jessica Collins, who played Avery Bailey Clark, left the hit daytime drama in 2015. Perhaps it’s time for her to return and stir up some trouble in Genoa City.

Young & Restless Bringing Back Beloved Character?

Young & the Restless fans are excited at the possibility of writers bringing back Phyllis’ younger sister, Avery. The two had a strained relationship at times, but in the end, they are sisters. Plus, Phyllis is going to need a new attorney and someone good. Fans first met Avery when she came to Genoa City to defend Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in a murder trial.

When she decided to leave the show after just four years, Jessica Collins revealed that she was not happy with the direction writers were taking her character. Plus, they would not negotiate a better contract with more money for her. So, she left.

It would be a great time for Avery to return and even try to reunite with Nick Newman once he kicks his drug addiction. Sharon may not enjoy this encounter, and it could potentially create drama.

Right now, there is no indication that this is the direction writers are heading, but it would make things interesting and bring a beloved face back on screen. It could really shake things up if she makes a comeback. Even if Jessica Collins does not return to the role herself, it’s possible the show could recast her.

Fans have even brought up the possibility that Joe Clark and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) are related due to the same last name. All of this mixed together has the potential to bring chaos.

Avery’s Background

Avery Bailey Clark was married to Joe Clark (Scott Elrod). It ended when Avery had an affair with Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton). Avery and Dylan planned a future together. However, tragedy hit, and she learned Dylan had been killed in Afghanistan. She went on to date Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), but then Dylan returned from the grave. Although Avery loves Dylan, she chooses to stay with Nick and accepts his proposal. They never got married.

Dylan and Avery got back together. However, their relationship is strained when Joe returns and tries to woo Avery. Avery and Dylan broke up, and Joe still tried to get her back. Then, Avery was assaulted and thought Joe was guilty of the crime. However, evidence proved Joe’s innocence. It was after this that she left Genoa City.

What do you think about the show bringing back Avery Bailey Clark? Do you think it’s a possibility or just wishful thinking?
