Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum introduced fans to Tyler White, but now he is embarking on an exciting new journey, inspired by his favorite person and the music genre closest to his heart. If you’ve seen him on the hit documentary series, you already know about his love of country music. Now the reality TV star is taking it to the next level, as he officially launches his music career with the release of his very first single. The single, titled “Oh Yeah Baby,” is out now. Releasing this song really feels like “a dream come true,” White says, chatting with PEOPLE at BMI Nashville.
“Oh man, this is a dream come true,” White, 28, says. “I always knew I wanted to do something in country music. I just didn’t know what.”
Love on the Spectrum Star Inspired By Fiancée
The song, inspired naturally by White’s well-known catchphrase, also serves as a heartfelt tribute to his fiancée, Madison Marilla. Fans have watched their relationship grow on Love on the Spectrum and seen them share loving posts about each other on social media.
“A lot of it is also about Madison and how I feel for her,” he explains. “So we put it together. I think this is going to be a No. 1 here, right here.”
White says the song came together while working with seasoned Nashville songwriters Drew Trosclair, Jeff Garrison and Lee Thomas Miller, titans of Nashville songwriting who have written with the likes of Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins and Terri Clark. The finished product is a testament to the bunch’s exact penmanship, boosting White’s fantastic vocals, supported by a rocking southern-inspired guitar riff.
“What I’ve learned is write what you feel, let it be you and true 100%,” White says. “And also make it to how it connects to other people.”

The Love on the Spectrum star’s musical influences go deep with storytelling and a long-held admiration for the traditions of country. “The GOAT” George Strait is a particularly prevalent influence, White says. “There’s a reason why they call him the King,” he says. “Just his songs about real life and love, I especially love his love songs.”
What White was drawn to in the first place, the emotional authenticity he found in the likes of Strait’s music, is something he wants to tap into in his own music moving forward. He wants future songs in his catalog to revolve around themes of family, faith, love for his nation and his relationship with Marilla, also 28. “Definitely my love for Madison,” he says when asked about the stories he wants to tell. “Songs about my life.”
