Josh Duggar has been sent to a new prison in Texas with a specialist medical facility. He has been moved to a federal medical facility in Fort Worth, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons data.

Duggar was previously housed at FCI Seagoville, a low-security facility in Texas, and is currently serving a term of more than 12 years after being found guilty of possessing child sexual abuse material in 2021.

According to the BOP website, the Fort Worth FMC is an “administrative security federal medical center with a detention center.”

His move to the government medical institution does not necessarily mean he needs medical attention. The Seagoville institution is about 46 miles from the Fort Worth penitentiary. The same prison is currently home to Tiger King celebrity Joseph Maldonado-Passage, popularly known as Joe Exotic.

Josh Duggar’s Wife Anna Helped With His Latest Motion

After a federal judge rejected a request to overturn the 19 Kids and Counting star’s sentence, Duggar was relocated to Fort Worth. Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, helped her husband with his motion to vacate his sentence, which a judge ultimately denied.

Josh, 38, and Anna, 37, shared drafts of his motion before the deadline for submission. He would either write out the information by hand or use a typewriter before mailing the drafts to his spouse.

Anna transcribed her husband’s physical copies on a computer. Anna typed up the documents and sent copies of the papers back to Josh for his signature. Also, she pre-filled the Certificate of Service with the date June 24, 2025, the day the Certificate of Service was due. The docs say the motion was eventually denied by a judge, with help from Anna. The judge’s decision that Josh filed the motion too late led to his ruling. The document, due June 24, 2025, was sent to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and received by the court clerk nearly a month later, July 29, 2025. Another copy was sent to the court last month.

Duggar Spoke Out Against Joseph’s Charges

Josh spoke out about his brother Joseph Duggar’s arrest through his attorney in March. Josh’s attorney said he was “deeply saddened” to learn Joseph, 31, was charged. Josh, 38, went on to slam the “false accusations” against his brother following the “stigma.”

He lives with the painful reality of how false accusations can destroy a life,” the statement on Josh’s behalf continued. “He understands how the targeting of a person for publicity can twist the truth into sensationalized fiction.”
