General Hospital fans have been eager to see Jason Morgan return from the WSB nightmare he’s been enduring to save Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr). Now, after months away from filming, Steve Burton was seen back on set, and his first official air date has been confirmed. When will fans see Jason return to their screens?
General Hospital Welcomes Back Steve Burton
General Hospital fans are excited to know that both Steve Burton and Finola Hughes are back on set filming for upcoming episodes. Both have been gone for months for personal reasons. Burton was on a hiatus to spend time with his new bride and family. Hughes never confirmed her reasons for a lengthy leave, but some speculate it was health-related.
Thankfully, now, their time away is over, and both are back on set filming. Anna Devane has been locked up in a French mental institution, while Jason has been tortured for allegedly shooting Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). It’s not clear how both will make their way back to Port Charles. However, there is something to look forward to since Burton’s first air date has been revealed.
Many inside sources confirmed to news outlets that Burton’s first day back on set was June 1. This is the day the cast and crew celebrated filming the 16,000th episode of the soap. That particular episode is scheduled to air on July 13. This is when fans will see Jason Morgan once again.
How Will Jason Return?
Currently, it’s unclear how Jason will make his way out of WSB custody and back to Port Charles. However, it could be tied to the takedown of double agent WSB director Ross Cullum. At some point, he will be revealed for the evil man he is.
It’s yet to be revealed if he will be killed or if he will face a torturous fate as Jason has. Could Cullum be tossed into a WSB hell to live out his days?
It’s not likely anyone will rush in to save Jason, so chances are this is how it all will go down. The truth about Rocco shooting Cullum to save Jason and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is bound to come out. Rocco will get away with it since, at that point, everyone will know Cullum is scum and betrayed his job and country.
