General Hospital fans are excited about the highly anticipated return of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Burton took time off from the show to spend time with his new bride and family. Now, it’s almost time for him to make his return from the WSB hell he’s been enduring. Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) told Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that he was probably tossed into a dark pit and will never be seen or heard from again. Fans all know that’s not true. But will he return as the Jason everyone knows and loves? Or, will he have been completely changed by this horrible ordeal he just went through?
General Hospital: Jason’s Return Not Easy
General Hospital fans may be in for a huge twist when Jason Morgan makes his way back to Port Charles. At some point, Jason will be released from the torturous conditions he’s currently in. The big question is what has this ordeal done to him? Brennan has already said that Jason is too valuable to just kill him. So, the WSB has bigger plans for him.
It’s entirely possible that the WSB will try to corrupt Jason, bring him over to their side. However, he’s obviously not going to do this willingly. Will they brainwash him? It definitely wouldn’t be the first time this has happened on a soap. If they could use him to get inside information on illegal activities, it could be priceless. Of course, this would also mean betraying Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
If Jason does not come back brainwashed to help the WSB, then he could come back a changed man because of everything he went through. He might have PTSD and have a hard time reconnecting with those he loves. Jason might be distant from Danny and everyone around him.
Of course, there is always the possibility he comes back perfectly fine, but chances are writers will throw some drama along with twists and turns into his comeback.
What Will Bring Jason Back?
Jason’s return to Port Charles will probably have something to do with taking down Russ Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). If Brennan can prove that Cullum is a double agent, they can either have him arrested and locked away somewhere forever or they can kill him.
There are lots of people who would love to take down Cullum. It could end up being Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) or Brennan. There’s even a chance that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) could end up taking a shot at him for killing Marco Rios.
Another possibility is Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). He might take him out for all the horrible trauma he’s inflicted on everyone, including Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
For now, this is all speculation. It’s hard to tell which direction writers are going, but spoilers do say there will be some shockers along the way.
