90 Day Fiance‘s Elizabeth Castravet’s father, Chuck Potthast, died from blunt force injuries after falling in a bathtub. In November 2025, Chuck Potthast, who was on 90 Day Fiance nine years ago, died at the age of 64. Almost three months after he died, though, the reason for his death has only now come to light.

Chuck Potthast’s Sudden Death Revealed

90 Day Fiance‘s Elizabeth and her husband, Andrei Castravet, said in November 2025 that her father had died. At the time, there was no reason given for the death; it is now being revealed that Chuck died from injuries he got when he fell. Many speculated it was brain cancer, but that was not the case at all.

TMZ got papers from the Hillsborough County, Florida, medical examiner. They say that Chuck died in November from blunt force injuries to the face and neck, including cuts on his face and a broken C6 vertebra. The report also says that positional asphyxia played a role.

The medical examiner said that chronic alcohol use, liver cirrhosis, and acute alcohol intoxication were all factors that led to the fall. This means that he had drunk a lot of alcohol before the fall.

Chuck, who was on many episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? had been open about his health problems. The medical report also shows that he had a long history of heavy drinking.

Elizabeth told everyone about his death on Instagram in November, just two months after he had a long, 8-hour surgery to fix a hernia and a stomach that had collapsed.

Our condolences go out to the Potthast family. Chuck Potthast was beloved in the 90 Day Fiance community.
