But the loving mom takes things to the next level, as she shares never-before-seen photos of her daughter. Kelly Jo also explained how Erin’s name was almost entirely different. ‘Bringing Up Bates‘: How’s Erin Bates Today?
It has been a busy season for Erin and her husband, Chad. The two welcomed their seventh child, Henry Blythe Paine, on August 25, 2025. But it wasn’t an easy journey for Erin and the baby. Henry was born premature and had to be in the NICU for weeks. Things also got even more challenging when Erin suffered septic shock and almost died.
At this point, Erin has fully recovered and is now back with her online hustles, selling different items from faith-based cards to skincare products. Recently, the Bringing Up Bates star shared a lengthy message talking about the transitions happening in their family. She revealed that they’re now focusing more on living a healthy lifestyle.
She wrote, “☀️getting morning sunlight 🌴spending time outside 🚶🏼♀️walking more 🛏️going to bed earlier 🫶🏻creating a peaceful home environment Those things matter more than most people realize. But there are a few things we’ve found worth investing in— and tools that actually support the body instead of just masking symptoms.”
Kelly Jo Shares Never-Before-Seen Pics Of Erin
In an Instagram post, Kelly Jo shared rare photos of her daughter, Erin, who’s celebrating her 35th birthday. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, she’s reminiscing about all the sweet memories she had with Erin when she was still a child. As a result, she decided to bring out some of her photos when she was still a little kid. Kelly Jo then explained the origin of Erin’s name and how she almost didn’t have it. “Even your name is special. The spiritual meaning of Erin means “Peace & tranquility.” Its actual meaning, though, is Ireland,” Kelly Jo wrote.
Kelly Jo went on to say that aside from Erin, they were thinking about the names Lindsay or Whitney. She added, “But we couldn’t have picked a more fitting name- peaceful, romantic, poetic…. You’re all of that and so much more!” Kelly Jo then gushed over Erin’s “old-school” ways and how gentle and balanced she is in life. She then shared that Erin’s second name, Elise, means “oath of God.” Kelly Jo ended her message, “if I could be half of the Christian, mother, & wife you are then I would be making huge strides in life! You’re such a blessing to me, & I love you immensely.”
