Tom Paton, the CEO of AiMation Studios and a visual effects producer, made the four-part series. It features six AI contestants who compete in a thrilling death match that combines elements from The Hunger Games, Fortnite, and Traitors. “AI calls the shots” on every decision in the show.

The CEO also revealed in a press release shared with PEOPLE, “Non Player Combat represents the emergent entertainment coming from AI, and is proof that it’s already here!”

“The future lies where the characters from the shows and films we watch are living their stories in real time.”

Tom Paton explains, “Non Player Combat contestants aren’t performing for the camera, so in many ways they feel more genuine than your average human reality TV contestant,”

Contestants Fight Polar Bears & Poisonous Snakes

In the show, contestants fight polar bears, poisonous snakes, and each other in bloody battles in a dystopian world where they have to deal with the worst conditions. The contestants in the groundbreaking show were given real personalities and the ability to make their own choices using AiMation’s Omnigen-01 tool and the latest AI technology.

There will be six contestants: Eliza Cole, who feels guilty; Travis Drake, a former Navy Seal, and Micah Gray, a wilderness coach. Each character will be “trained” on detailed backstories.

Paton said that the reality show is aimed at people aged 18 to 35 and the gaming community. This group of viewers is “already OK with characters not being real.” Moreover, it costs 90% less to make than real-life game shows.

Although “The question is, do you actually care that it’s AI if you’re entertained? I doubt it, and that’s all that counts.” The CEO of AiMation Studios added. The format is new and will keep people on the edge of their seats.
