1000-Lb Sisters‘: Who Are Tammy & Amy Slaton’s Parents?

Tammy and Amy were raised by Darlene and Larry. Larry died in 2004, while Darlene’s health continued to worsen. Darlene did her best raising her kids, working three jobs while the siblings were cared for by their grandmother. Tammy and Amy later had a stepfather named Robert Rednour, who also died in January 2021.

Since then, Tammy and Amy tried their best to support each other alongside Chris, Amanda, and Misty. Amy and Tammy have gone through some hardships over the years, especially in recent seasons, in which Amy married Brian. There haven’t been any updates regarding Amy and Tammy’s mother. But many 1000-Lb Sisters fans were shocked when some fans learned about Darlene’s past.

Fans Horrified Over Mama Darlene’s History

Some 1000-Lb Sisters fans on social media discussed Darlene’s history. The poster shared photos of Darlene from three different timelines. The first one on the far left is a photo with her man, while the second features her first appearance on the show. The third and last photos below are from the later seasons, and many were shocked by how Darlene wasn’t able to keep an eye on her health.

Mama Darlene was pregnant at 14 and lived through the murder of her father

Several commenters also pointed out some of her horrifying past, including how she was already married at the age of 15. Darlene was already pregnant at 14 and went through terrifying family drama, including how her brother allegedly killed her father.

• “A mom at 15, a child bride, family drama where her brother killed her dad, and somewhere along the way put herself through nursing school to try and make a better life. It’s definitely understandable that she’s fucked up both mentally and physically.”
