Storage Wars fans were shocked to learn that Darrell Sheets had passed away on Wednesday, April 22. Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a call in which they found a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The deceased was identified as Sheets, who was only 67 years old. Now, fellow co-stars are speaking out about his tragic death. Dave Hester is one of them and breaks his silence on Sheets’ apparent suicide.
Storage Wars Stars Break Silence On Darrell Sheets’ Tragic Passing
Storage Wars star Dave Hester released a video message on social media to fans following the news of Darrell Sheets’ suicide. Hester spoke to fans while sitting in a vehicle. He began his statement by saying that everyone knows that Sheets passed away on Wednesday. He went on to say he has been seeing a bunch of silly, goofy comments online that he wasn’t even going to address.
Hester said, “I know there was some stuff there about cyberbullying. I don’t even know how that exists because I turn that type of stuff off. But I’m sure its out there. And if its happening, or happened, I hope that its taken care of the way it should be.” Some believe and are saying that Sheets took his own life after being cyberbullied.
Hester continued to honor Sheets by saying that he was loved and would always be a part of the Storage Wars family. He went on to say, “Even though he wasn’t actively filming at the time, he’s always there. Some of my best battles are with him. Again, those will just be good memories.”

René Nezhoda Also Speaks Out
René Nezhoda is another Storage Wars co-star who spoke out about Darrell Sheets’ taking his own life. He alleged that Sheets committed suicide after being bullied online. He voiced that nobody should be cyberbullied, regardless of who they are. The Lake Havasu Police Department revealed that they are aware of the cyberbullying accusations, and it is part of the ongoing investigation into Sheets’ death.
Brandi Passante also shared her thoughts on Sheets’ passing. She reminded everyone that they are not alone and should seek help if they feel hopeless and are struggling. She concluded by saying, “The grief from suicide is endless. There is always help.”
Darrell Sheets was a part of Storage Wars from 2010 until 2023. During his time on the show, he was often referred to as “The Gambler.” When he retired from the show in 2023, he opened his own antique store.
