General Hospital alumnus Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer) just revealed to fans a very special finished project dear to his heart.
Jackson used to be in the band Jonathan Jackson + Enation, and he has also performed around the world as Avery Barkley in the former ABC music city drama Nashville, where he sang and acted.
Jackson really got fans under his spell with his rendition of the Everly Brothers #1 hit, ‘Unchained Melody’ which really sealed the deal with fans around the world.

Jonathan took to Instagram to tell fans about the exciting album, which has 11 new songs. He said, “It’s been a long time coming and is different from what I’ve done before.” This is my first record by myself. You could say that it’s more focused on the vocals. In a way, there is a lot more piano and a lot more orchestra. I’m really looking forward to sharing it with you all. It’s part of a four-volume series that I’ll be putting out over the next few years, along with a book called “The Bastards of Babylon.”

In 2025, Jackson left General Hospital after only nine months back as Lucky Spencer. He had been gone from the soap for ten years. Jonathan won his sixth Daytime Emmy in October 2025 for his role as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 52nd annual Daytime Emmys. Recently, Jackson was heartbroken over the death of his on-screen father, Anthony Geary, who played Luke Spencer. The two were very close. Jonathan started the soap at age 11. He was the son of the legacy couple, Luke & Laura (Genie Francis) Spencer.
General Hospital’s Jonathan Jackson will be back on the ABC soap
Michael Fairman TV talked to Jonathan right after he won an Emmy. They discussed his upcoming music projects and schedule, as well as his potential to reprise the role of Lucky Spencer in the future. Jackson told us, “Yes, of course.” That was part of the conversation with Frank Valentini (EP, GH), because I would like to be able to come back. And thank God they agreed with that. I mean, it’s really about the logistics of music and other projects and whether or not my back can handle all the traveling.
Jonathan originally said he wanted to leave his contract early because he had to travel back and forth between Tennessee and Los Angeles and be away from his family and kids. Sadly, Lucky said goodbye to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) when fans were hoping for an on-screen reunion. Now that Jackson has released his big project and is touring, it gives fans a bit of a timeline as to when to expect Luke Spencer’s wayward son. Like father, like son, Lucky Spencer will be back.
