General Hospital Cameron Mathison Opens Up About House Fire
General Hospital star Cameron Mathison appeared on a podcast recently, where he discussed the fires that destroyed his home and everything in it. This isn’t the first time he’s talked about those devastating fires. However, this time he revealed being glad his house burned down. Why would he say that?
Mathison shared that before the fires ever hit, he knew in his heart he wanted to focus on having fewer things and wanting fewer things. He knows he’s very fortunate to have money and great jobs that have given him the means to purchase things he wants. However, he also feels that the fires were a great teaching.
Cameron said that he snuck up to his home and saw it burning, and everything was gone. He shared a video from that moment, but muted it because he admits he had never heard those sounds come out of his body before. Mathison mentioned being a Dharma practitioner and how the feelings he was having were surreal.
In that moment, he felt grief like one would if there were a death. However, he also felt freedom. It was as if his wish was being answered for him. Everything was just gone. He felt some relief, even with the hurt of losing all the things that are not replaceable, such as baby photos and kids’ school projects.
