Joseph Duggar has pleaded not guilty to putting his wife, Kendra Duggar’s children in danger. This comes one month after he was arrested for child sex abuse. A source said at the time that the extra charges and Kendra’s arrest had “nothing to do” with Joseph’s case of child sex abuse in Florida.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Joseph, 31, pleaded not guilty to putting a child’s safety at risk on Monday, April 27.
The plea comes a month after the 19 Kids and Counting star was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior involving molesting a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior by someone 18 or older. A 14-year-old girl said that he sexually abused by her when she was 9 years old on a vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020. A close friend of Kendra Duggar’s family, Amy Paul, said her father, Paul, turned Joseph in.
Two days after Joseph was arrested, he was charged with four counts of second-degree false imprisonment and putting a child in danger. Kendra, who is 27, was also arrested on the same four charges.
Kendra Duggar Made A Deal with the Court
To get out of jail on bond, Kendra had to promise that she would “have no contact by telephone (including text), in person, by computer (including email), or through other people in any way” with the victims. Calls between Kendra and Joe while Joe was in jail later showed that the couple’s four kids are the alleged victims.
Kendra’s lawyer was able to get the no-contact order from March 20 lifted for her.
Kendra said she wasn’t guilty of the charges and was let go on a $1,470 bond. Joseph, on the other hand, denied the charges of child molestation and was released on a $600,000 bond. They have both been together in Arkansas since being released.
