Josh Duggar Will Face Difficulty Seeing Wife & Kids

Counting On alum Josh Duggar will find it difficult to see his wife and kids now that he has been transferred for the third time to serve his prison sentence. His latest move comes after he was placed in a temporary prison in Oklahoma. People shared all the details about Duggar’s transfer.

According to the report, inmate records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) show that the TLC alum was recently moved from FTC Oklahoma City, a temporary federal transfer center, to FCI Elkton in Lisbon, Ohio. He reportedly arrived in Ohio on July 8. FCI Elkton is described as “a low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent low security satellite prison.”

The time spent in Oklahoma City is just a temporary location for prisoners waiting to find out where they will be permanently serving their sentence. Prior to the move to Ohio, Josh spent four years at FCI Seagoville, just 10 miles outside Dallas. However, he was then transferred in May to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth for reasons that are still unclear.

His Arrest Timeline

Josh Duggar was arrested by Homeland Security in April 2021 and officially sentenced in May 2022. He has been serving for more than twelve years for his alleged crimes. All of his appeals have so far been denied by judges.

Now, being all the way in Ohio will prevent Duggar from seeing his wife and children as much. It is more than 850 miles and a 13-hour drive from their home in Arkansas. When asked if he would be transferred again, prison officials declined to disclose that information. Josh’s attorney claims the transfers within a short period of time are punitive moves.

His attorney claims the moves are punishment for Duggar, making an accusation that prison officials were opening his legal mail. The attorney also claims that the prison deleted Josh’s list of approved people to have contact with, and so he lost touch with them while it was all sorted out.

According to court documents, Duggar is slated to be discharged from prison in 2033.
