Kirsten Storms is leaving General Hospital as Maxie Jones in a final on-screen farewell, and her whole family is relocating to Australia.
After being accused of having a mental health crisis, Kirsten Storms recently gave a life update and revealed a whole new look.

After it was announced in the July 23 episode that Maxie, Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and their family are relocating to Australia, one of the show’s longest-running characters is coming to an end.
Storms is departing General Hospital as Maxie Jones. The July 23 episode, which also disclosed that Maxie, Spinelli, and their family are moving to Australia, confirmed her departure from Port Charles.
A difficult year comes to an end with the announcement. On February 12, after a six-month hiatus, Storms returned when Maxie emerged from a coma and found her late husband Nathan had seemingly come back to life.
The plot had a lot of potential. It turned out that “Nathan” was actually Cassius Faison, his identical twin, who had developed feelings for Maxie’s best friend Lulu. Storms, however, only appeared briefly before Maxie disappeared from the canvas once more. GH later gave an explanation for her disappearance, pointing to a lengthy family trip to the Grand Canyon.
Storms has been transparent about her need for personal and health-related time away from Los Angeles. She said she couldn’t see herself returning to work there in a June social media post. Because of that context, this exit feels less like a plot twist and more like life catching up with the story.
Kirsten Storms Basically Says No to Coming Back
Kirsten addressed whether she was open to coming back to General Hospital and the answer was surprising. Storms wrote:
“I can’t say I will be comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work given what’s been going on,” Storms wrote.
She added, “This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession.” Storms concluded, “My daughter is my entire life; she is (and always will be) my first priority.”
Storms responded directly to the question fans have been wondering about—her future with General Hospital. Viewers eagerly hope for her return.
