Five years after Alaskan Bush People‘s Billy Brown’s tragic death, his widow, Ami Brown, introduced fans to her new “husband” in a shocking post.
The patriarch died of a seizure in February 2021 at the age of 68, leaving Ami and their seven children heartbroken.
Brown Family’s beginnings and the end of an era
When Alaskan Bush People first aired on the Discovery Channel in 2014, Ami and Billy, along with their kids Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Gabe, Noah, Snowbird, and Rain, became famous. It has had 14 seasons on the Discovery Channel, and the last one aired in December 2022.
Billy’s family shared the sad news on Instagram after he died.”
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch, Billy Brown, passed away last night after suffering from a seizure.
“He was our best friend – a wonderful and loving dad, granddad, and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well.
“We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream.”
The family also asked for “privacy and prayers” during the difficult time.”
Alaskan Bush People: Ami Brown introduces new husband
The TV star seems to have found love again, though, because she posted a picture on Instagram with her new partner, whom she called her “husband.”
She posted a picture of herself with her daughter Rain, her son-in-law Josiah, and a man named DJ.
DJ has his arm around Ami in the picture. They are standing in the snow next to Rain and Josiah, and the sun is shining behind them.
The reality star wrote, “Rain, Josiah, my husband, DJ, and I.”
Ami didn’t say anything else about her new man or whether or not she really did get married again.
