After over ten years of marriage, Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo are divorcing.
The 41-year-old country music artist filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18. The news was initially reported by TMZ.
For a pair that has regularly disclosed their relationship to the public and, as recently as this year, seemed to be celebrating each other on one of the largest stages in music, the filing represents an unexpected turn.
Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) and Bunnie (actual name Alisa DeFord) kissed and posed on the red carpet throughout the 2026 Grammy Awards in February.

After Jelly won Best Contemporary Country Album, the two also celebrated. The musician broke down in tears as he thanked his wife during his remarks while winning the prize. “I want to thank my beautiful wife,” he said. “I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.”
Before he became famous, Jelly Roll met Bunnie in 2015, but their relationship didn’t become romantic until the next year. August 2016 saw the couple walk down the aisle. Years after the marriage, in 2023, Bunnie made the decision to leave the sex industry.

A week prior to the wedding, Jelly Roll had a son with a different woman, adding to the drama. The couple’s relationship has been difficult. Bunnie has been candid about the highs and lows, disclosing that they had previously broken up several times.
The couple met at one of Jelly Roll’s performances at the Country Saloon in Las Vegas in 2015, and their romance started over ten years ago.
In 2016, while performing live in Las Vegas, Jelly asked 46-year-old Bunnie to marry him after they had been dating for around a year. The couple secretly married in a courthouse ceremony later that evening, keeping their friends and family in the dark.
