General Hospital spoilers suggest that Cassius Faison, also known as fake Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), might not actually be dead as the show would have viewers believe. There are plenty of reasons to suspect Cassius survived, so let’s consider why Z (John Oliver) could be covering up the truth.
After the bloody showdown on Spoon Island, SOD quickly reported Ross Cullum’s (Andrew Hawkes) death and even provided an exit interview. However, when it came to confirming whether Ryan Paevey had finished his run on the show, GH did not comment.
Maybe the show is avoiding questions because Cassius’ fate isn’t as clear-cut as it appears. Z checked Cassius for a pulse before turning his attention to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but the events after that are unknown.
While Josslyn was rushed to GH, it’s possible Cassius was put on Z’s helicopter and taken elsewhere.
Why Cassius Faison Needs To Appear ‘Dead’
Cassius could have been secretly rescued and might eventually be shown recovering in a hidden location. Cassius could still be a valuable asset, but Z needs him to appear “dead” for the story Josslyn is telling.
Josslyn is about to ruin Cassius’ reputation and claim he was Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) partner on the cold fusion project. Cullum planned to make Cassius the scapegoat, and now Z is following that approach since it benefits the WSB’s image.
This all shows that Z will lie about anything if it helps the bureau, and that could include lying about Cassius’ death.
It also seems odd to kill off another one of Ryan Paevey’s characters and make it harder for him to return. Maybe this is GH writers’ way of keeping things uncertain, since no one can say exactly whether Z is telling the truth about Cassius’ fate.
Paevey even reposted an Instagram story, which showed Z checking Cassius’ pulse and teased, “Only time will tell…” about the character’s fate. That looks like a hint that Cassius is still alive and could make a dramatic return in the future. Remember who his father is; that is the answer.
General Hospital spoilers hint that some surprising Cassius developments could still be ahead. Ryan Paevey did not come back to the show just to leave again so abruptly, not permanently anyway. So stay tuned as the secrets unfold on ABC’s General Hospital.
