General Hospital fans are getting agitated that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is nowhere to be seen. There have been some huge moments happening surrounding her on-screen son, James, and fans feel she should be there. For now, writers have been saying Maxie is on vacation. However, most know Storms has been going through some personal issues that have forced her away from work. At the moment, nobody knows if Kirsten is planning to return to the soap. However, either way, fans are demanding that she be recast immediately. What’s the scoop?
General Hospital Fans Think Maxie Should Be There
Even though it’s a soap, it seems rather odd to most fans that Maxie Jones is not anywhere to be found during some very intense moments. For example, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) is Maxie’s best friend. Maxie should be there scamming with her bestie instead of off somewhere on vacation.
Plus, the drama surrounding her son and Cassius Faison. What would Maxie think knowing that Nathan West is truly dead, and it’s his twin who’s been portraying James’ father? James is currently heartbroken, and yet his mother is nowhere to be found.
On top of all that, she should be in on the drama surrounding Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Deception. It hasn’t even been revealed yet that Sidwell is the one who poisoned poor Maxie, so “Nathan” could swoop in and take his life back.
All of these are important moments that fans want to see Maxie a part of. If Storm is out or even if she’s not, many demand something be done with her character.
Does Storms Plan To Return?
Most agree they would love to see Kirsten Storms return to Port Charles as Maxie. However, with her current personal situation in Tennessee, it doesn’t seem likely that fans will see her anytime soon. In fact, toward the beginning of June, she spoke out and said her top priority would always be her little girl.
After reportedly enduring break-ins and privacy violations, Storms is concerned about being in Hollywood and subjecting herself and her child to more trauma. Her ex-husband believes that Storms is having a mental health crisis and even got a restraining order against her.
If Storms does not want to return to the soap, most wish they would let her move on and recast the character. Here is what some fans are saying on social media:
- “If anything they should’ve had somebody step in temporarily because she is much needed right now especially when supposed “Nathan” came back to life or whatever. Like someone’s really gonna take a vacation after an event like that.”
- “They’ve done the temporary recast with her before and it worked just fine. I think they should do it again. Offer someone the role temporarily with the possibility of it being permanent.”
- “Yes, I agree. The storylines going on really demand her presence. I get it that KS can’t be at work, but there’s too much going on in Maxie’s inner circle for the character not to be around.”
- “Agree, I would love it to be Kirsten, but if she can’t do it right now, Max is too important of a character to just not have on the show.”
